Nourishes the Liver and Kidney Yin, nourishes the Liver Blood and sends Essence and Blood to the eyes.


Indications:

Chronic disorders of the eyes and vision (e.g. central retinochoroiditis, retrobulbar neuritis, optic nerve atrophy, vitreous opacity, glaucoma, retinal disorders, cataracts), migraine headaches, hypertension, Menieres disease.


Signs and Symptoms:

Dry and sore eyes, loss of visual acuity, excessive lacrimation, Photophobia, Dry mouth and throat, Thirst, Low back pain, Dizziness, Irritability, Tinnitus or hearing loss, Sensation of heat in palms and soles, Recurrent headaches, Sleep disturbance, Night sweats, Red cheeks, Red and dry tongue with little coat, Thready pulse that may also be rapid.


Dosage and Course of Treatment:

8 - 12 pills, 3 times daily, half to one hour away from food.

Course of treatment: 3 - 9 months, or ongoing in elderly patients.

Safe for long term use.


Combinations:

Cataracts, degenerative eye diseases (e.g. macular degeneration): Qi Bao Mei Ran Dan (Polygonum & Cuscuta Formula BP057); Ming Mu Di Huang Wan (Rehmannia Formula to Brighten the Eyes BP075); Zuo Gui Wan (Left Returning Formula BP039);

Hypertension, glaucoma, migraine headaches: Tian Ma Gou Teng Wan (Gastrodia & Gambir Formula BP024); Yang Yin Jiang Ya Wan (Achyranthes & Cassia Seed Formula BP035).


Ingredients:

- Rehmannia glutinosa, prepared root 66.0 mg

- Dioscorea oppositifolia, root 55.1 mg

- Wolfiporia cocos, fruit. body 55.1 mg

- Alisma plantago aquatica, rhizome 54.8 mg

- Lycium barbarum, fruit 44.3 mg

- Chrysanthemum sinense, flower 33.8 mg

- Cornus officinalis, fruit 33.0 mg

- Paeonia suffruticosa, stem bark 33.0 mg


Cautions and Contraindications:

Discontinue during an episode of common cold or influenza. Not for acute inflammatory eye diseases.
