Athlete’s Foot

This is identified by soft peeling skin between the toes, which can leave your feet clammy and smelly. It is caused by a fungal infection.
Athlete’s Foot is highly infectious, so do not walk around bare foot, where other people are likely to tread .Public showers e.g. caravans parks can be highly contagious if you do not wear thongs or some form of footwear. Do not allow sharing of thongs, sandals, towels or use the same bath mats.
After drying between your toes, wash the towel in hot water and soap with a few drops of Lavender oil. Don’t use the towel on other parts of your body because tinea can easily spread especially to the groin area.
Soak your feet in warm water and 6 to 10 drops of tea tree oil or lavender oil.
After washing the feet and drying them well dust between the toes with powered arrowroot.
For persistent cases, paint the area with tea tree oil and place a cotton wool ball moistened with several drops of the oil in your shoes at night.
