We would like to share with you an article on page 11 of the Gold Coast Bulletin Newspaper on 10 November 2015.

"Killer Brain Parasite Find. Doctors have identified at least two adults who died of a 'brain eating parasite' linked to a cluster of three child deaths in outback Queensland. Experts believe deaths from the rare killer disease found in fresh water may be double the 25 cases officially recorded in Queensland since 2000. Primary Amoebic Meningoencephalitis (PAM) is a rare disease, with 98 per cent mortality, caused by the amoeba Naegleria fowleri. Most deaths are linked to properties which rely on deep bore water stored in cooling dams, tanks and pipes which accumulates dirt and germs."

We recommend filtering your water before consuming to reduce the risk of parasite infestation.
